There are 17 categories available to enter for the 2018 awards.

 

The awards are free to enter and organisations are invited to enter as many categories in the programme as they wish.

 

This year’s entry process will require completion of our NEW entry form, which will be specific to each individual category.

The ultimate award in the Scottish Legal Awards 2018 programme will be presented to the firm which stands out as a high achiever within the last year.
Guidelines

Firms should prepare the following information in their entry:

An outline of key activity in 2017
Short biographies on executive members of the team
Strategic business planning, marketing effectiveness and financial results
Credentials and testimonials from clients and business partners
Evidence of team working
Supporting testimonials, case studies and financial statistics can be included in appendices

The Scottish Legal Awards judging panel are delighted to present this  award to an individual who has achieved unparalled success in their chosen field. The individual may be working as a specialist or delivering essential advice to any area of legal services including in house teams, government services or in a charity capacity.

This award seeks to recognise a lifelong career dedicated to Scottish law and is presented at the discretion of the judging panel.

NEW Corporate Deal Team of the Year

NEW Corporate Deal Team of the Year

 

 

 

 

For corporate law teams based in Scotland, this award will recognise the work of a corporate team in private practice advising clients on transactional work.

All aspects of corporate and commercial work will be considered including mergers, acquisitions and disposals. This award will be presented to a team of any size delivering either a high volume of work or to a team delivering a one-off significant deal.

This category recognises the work which advances client relations with services which deliver added value. Judges will consider creative approaches to client communications in topical changes such as tax, new
legislation and Brexit, while considering the firm’s approach to developing emerging areas of practice.

Eligibility

Open to legal firms, legal teams, charities and legal business providers.

Legal teams continue to be among the most generous of professions with a full and active programme of community engagement and charitable work. This award will recognise the efforts of a firm to deliver a significant contribution to a local community or chosen charity. For the first time, this category will also consider pro bono work as part of the submission.
